Criw Celf Portfolio and Criw Celf Raising the Bar Exhibition

King Street Gallery is delighted to once again showcase the work of talented young artists from the Carmarthenshire area under the Criw Celf programme. This year the exhibition is divided into two shows: the first week will showcase the work created by the Criw Celf Portfolio (GCSE) and the second week will be Criw Celf Raising the Bar (A level)

Devised by Gwynedd Council’s Community Arts Unit in 2007, Criw Celf offers a programme of art training to children who have shown a particular interest and/or talent in the visual arts. The project, which is Arts Council of Wales funded, has since been expanded and this exhibition is of work created by the Criw Celf GCSE Art and Design Portfolio and A Level groups that study at the Carmarthen School of Art.

Students from local schools including Bro Myrddin, Queen Elizabeth High School, Bro Dinefwr and Strade in Llanelli who are currently participating in the project and exhibiting is a crucial part of it. The works exhibited will be drawn from the best pieces produced over the duration of the project. The workshops from which they will be selected include drawing, painting, photography, textiles, digital and 3D.

There are two Private Views:

Criw Celf Portfolio (GCSE) Private View on Friday 8th June, 5.30-7.00pm

Criw Celf Raising the Bar (A level) Private View on Friday 14th June, 5.30-7.00pm

Please come along and support our young talented artists!
