Diana Heeks 'Halfway There: Approaching the Black Mountains'

In 2015, after receiving an ACW research and development grant, and in partnership with Peak of Arts Alive Wales at Crickhowell, I spent four separate weeks in the Black Mountains exploring its landscape and environs through the lens of Raymond Williams’ novel “The People of the Black Mountains”.

Based at Broadley Farm with its large art studio, half a mile from Llanthony Abbey in the Ewyas Valley, I made drawings and paintings which were shown in an open studio during my last week there. Some of that work I now show here at King Street Gallery, along with more recent developments. Exhibitions of the final work in this project are scheduled for 2018/19, so I am halfway there, assessing things but still with plenty of time for development.

Show opening on Friday 17th November 5.30pm - 7.30pm. All are welcome to this launch in the Chate Room.
