PETER JOHN JONES

Peter John Jones was born in Llanelli in 1945. Following periods of overseas employment within heavy industry he returned to Wales in 1983 to pursue a career as a painter. At this time his university studies included Creative Arts and Anglo Welsh Literature. From 1985 – 1995 he had solo exhibitions in galleries in Southern Ireland and Wales and his work featured in the television arts programme, Primetime. He ceased painting for a period of twenty years, but four years ago accepted an invitation to be artist in residence at the Boathouse Laugharne, celebrating the centenary of the birth of Dylan Thomas. Peter’s book of poems ‘A Fox in the Yard’ was published by Parthian books last year and some of his paintings at The King Street Gallery will reflect on his poetry.
