Peter Rossiter and Sam Harrison

Paintings, Construction and Sculptural Wood Art

16th - 28th June

Peter Rossiter and Sam Harrison both work in remote settings: the former near Cardigan, the latter, Carmarthen.

Peter Rossiter explains that "my approach to art began as a response to the local landscape and my recent works tend to be more abstract explorations in a variety of media. Both the paintings and the constructions are as much responses to the visual stimuli of the natural world as they are expressions of an endless fascination with the media itself. Sometimes I begin with a purely abstract idea and then it begins to take on a representational meaning, other times it goes the other way. There seems to me to be a congruence with Sam's wood sculptures which play along the borderlines between symmetry and asymmetry as well as functionality and non-functionality."

There will be an opportunity to "meet the artist " Peter Rossiter on Friday 16th June from 10am to 5pm at King Street Gallery.
