King Street Gallery artists co-operative has been awarded the Collectorplan status by the Arts Council of Wales, joining Carmarthen’s prestigious Oriel Myrddin as the only other gallery in town to have had the same stamp of approval.
The Collectorplan scheme, which was pioneered in Britain by ACW, enables art lovers to borrow up to £2000 interest free to spend in any Collectorplan gallery in Wales. “We immediately had a sale through the scheme-a Peter Spriggs painting-and are thrilled to have had the Arts Council’s recognition of the quality of the work on display here”, said Victoria Malcolm, Company Secretary and painter.
The co-operative will be rehanging the three gallery rooms in late July. This latest exhibition will include the work of recent new members to the co-operative. Our membership continues to grow with exceptional new talent willing to contribute to this ever improving gallery space and artist cooperative. Building improvements are expected to be completed in the near future adding another dimension to King Street where late openings and private viewings are hoped will take place.
