PETER COVIELLO              

 

 

 

These paintings have been selected from a group of works which were inherited by one of his heirs. Peter Coviello died in 2006. Both his work and his energy as a practitioner live on in the memory with affection and appreciation.

 

Speaking as one who was touched by knowing him and has the privilege of living with a few of his pictures, I recommend these works to you. Peter’s paintings are authoritative and demanding, they are informed with knowledge and experience and they repay serious, patient attention. For these reasons, unlike some other modern abstract art, I believe Peter’s will endure.

 

Peter studied art, history, psychology, and mythology, and spent considerable energy pursuing the deeper meaning of life, this was the context in which he created his paintings.

One day, perhaps, the name Coviello will receive the same notice as have several other artists who began as students in The Situation Group, some of whom now command five or six figure sums. Meanwhile we are glad to have this opportunity to show some of the best work available.
