Charlotte Leadbeater - Artist's Statement
A founder member of the gallery, I live and work in LLandeilo.
I work with torn paper, oil pastels, pencils, oils and felt tipped pens to convey
a sense of fleeting movement, shapes echo steps, reflections on the dance floor,
bars of music, -- the past immolated in the name of the present. I believe it is
art's purpose to awaken us to extraordinary life so that ‘daylight is lit with a more
volatile light,’ - to transfigure the ever-changing commonplace.
