This exhibition reflects all the walks I have taken over many years and making sketches and taking photos with the intention of using them as information for future art work.
This is my first gallery exhibition since moving from Porthcawl to Llandeilo in 2015. Booking the Chate Room has made me focus on making new work, reviewing existing work and collecting it together. There are a few looking out seascapes but I have also looked through, looked down, looked in, examined details, collected found items and observed places over time and seasons. This journey begins on the Heritage coast of Glamorgan meanders along and spends time in Porthcawl, wanders along towards Swansea and the Gower, moves along sections of the coastal path around Carmarthen, Pembroke and Ceredigion and ends up near Aberystwyth.
I use drawing, painting, collage and printmaking, often combining media and I use many different approaches to create a series of work which I hope tells the viewer something of my experience of being there. I believe engagement with Art is inherently life enhancing for both the artist and the viewer. I hope you agree and enjoy my meanderings and the work in this exhibition. With thanks to King Street Gallery members for allowing me to use the Chate Room, and to all those who have encouraged me to get my act together and show this work.

ARTIST'S TALK
Thurs 9 Nov
11am-12.30pm
You are invited to come along and join in an informal session with Jean Floe in the Chate Room at the Gallery. She will be talking about her lifelong involvement with the arts and her belief that art is inherently life enhancing both for the artist and the viewer. Artists use images to communicate their ideas and ways of seeing our world to those who are interested, it is a two-way conversation. Jean will talk about some of the artists who have influenced her thinking and ways of working. So, using the work in the exhibition we will focus on our relationship with the coastal environment, and with our living planet on which we depend. Jean tends to take a subject and explore it in many ways through different media, techniques and styles to create a series of work. Please come along and meet the artist and find out more.
