I graduated as a mature student with a Design Studies Degree from University of Wales, Trinity St David’s in 2017.  During this multi-disciplinary degree I explored the transformative potential of textiles.

I work with natural fibres and slow processes such as hand felting, sculpting, dyeing, shibori, printing, collaging, stitching and applique.  I enjoy the idea of exploring processes bound up in social history but when used in a contemporary context suggest new ideas and interpretations.

Inspiration comes from close observation of colours, forms, patterns and textures within natural phenomena or found objects.  I use photography, sketching, painting and sampling to develop ideas. At some point the interaction between chosen materials, process and subject take on a life of their own! Embedded in my Practice is a respect for the environment: I minimise waste, recycle what I can, make use of by-products, avoid pollutants and use either natural or low-impact dyes and solutions.

Past Exhibitions : Oriel y Parc, St David’s, (June 2017 and 2019), Waunifor Summer Exhibition, (2018),  National Botanic Gardens of Wales, ( 2018), Llanwrtyd Wells Heritage Centre, 2021.
