Born in Vancouver, Canada, Elaine started painting at a nearly age inspired by the mountains, sea and the primal forests that surrounded her. With a Fine Art degree from the University of Toronto, and numerous graduate distinctions, including a showing at the Ontario College of Art, she emigrated to the UK and in 2003 set up a studio in Wales, drawn by the elemental nature of the landscape. Elaine, a longstanding member of the King Street Gallery artist cooperative in Carmarthen, runs painting workshops and exhibits in galleries across Wales including an annual solo show at Aberglasney Gardens, Llandeilo.
"I am fascinated by the wild energies of the sea, sky and valleys, and how the continual kaleidoscopic repatterning of light, shadow and colour changes their mood in a moment. My passion and consuming pursuit is to capture the magic of these moments to uplift and inspire others as they do me.”
