Jess Elliot – Exhibition of Cyanotypes

6 - 18 Feb 2026

My artwork explores the themes of loss, the Earth, and disruption. As I capture and reflect upon what nature surrounds me in my day to day life, I see what man has created and in-turn also destroyed. The use of the colour and shades of blue - integral to my cyanotypes - evokes the feeling of sadness and loss. The stylistic erosion that is physically impressed in my cyanotypes mirrors the erosion of our natural environment by humankind.

The aim of my work is to conjure a narrative of what we as people take advantage of - be it man-made or created by nature. Over time my artwork will naturally fade, and in that same way so will what the images portray.
