The Chate Room

Tanya Rotherfield, Debbie Dunbar & Lesley Morris

Group Show

21 August – 9 September 2026

King Street Gallery welcome three of our talented members to the Chate Room in this exciting Group Show.

Tanya Rotherfield

My work reflects my love and concern for our world. A world we are systematically destroying through consumerism and continual economic growth, an idea that is sold to us through advertising and championed by government.

Debbie Dunbar

I am fascinated by many things, and don’t limit myself to a single theme, though much of my work is still life and portraiture. I work in the studio, from life and ‘en plein air’ But all my works are linked by a pursuit of light and how it affects us visually and emotionally.

Lesley Morris

As an artist, I have always been drawn to the human figure and face. I am particularly interested in the way our modern western culture blindly worships youth, beauty and fecundity, whilst abhorring any signs of ageing. Indeed, death, senescence and the inevitable decline of physical strength are all viewed with horror and vigorously resisted in an apparent refusal to comprehend and accept the inescapably cyclical nature of the human and natural world.

Open Art Competition for 2027

The theme for the 2027 Open Art Competition is Hidden. We look forward to seeing the many ways you may interpret this. Plenty of time for you to get your thinking caps on.

The exhibition of the work will be around February/March next year.

We will post more information about our 2027 Open Art Competition in due course.

Keep an eye out for updates.
