June 6th - 30th: An exhibition by special guest Russian artists Nikita & Leonid Alexeev from St Petersburg. (Chate Room)
An Illustrated Talk - Art from St Petersburg with Charlotte Leadbeater.
Come and join us at 5.30pm on Saturday 15th June to learn about this intriguing work from Russia. £4 for adults and £2.50 for concessions.

All the way from Russia, computer generated imagery and original oil paintings by two talented brothers, Nikita and Leonid Alexeev, will be finding their new home in the Chate Room at King Street Gallery for one month.
Nikita gained his expertise in the N.K. Roerich Fine Arts School in St Petersburg. After graduating, he went on to be a very successful Rock singer before returning to the Arts scene in Moscow where he was one of the few chosen artists to complete a commission to design a set of Tarot Cards based on the amalgamation of the Egyptian priests' ancient teaching and Moscow conceptualism. His work, held in private collections in Russia, Europe and America is created with a variety of materials.
His younger brother, Leonid is an artist-illustrator from St Petersburg and studied industrial design in the Industrial-Arts academy of Muhina. His graphic skills are a combination of digital illustration, drawing and painting where a lot of his talents are used in "Signus Labs Studio" producing computer games for mobile devices. He's inspired by nature, people and their "Strangeness".
This exhibition has been one of the more challenging to organise and a lot of work was done by the King Street Gallery's co-operative chairperson, Charlotte Leadbeater who's art and ballet involvements have given her strong connections with the Russian Arts Scene, in particular, St Petersburg's. Paintings had to be flown over from Russia and finished here in Wales and with communication barriers and the distances involved it's been an interesting to show to put together - but the work that has been arriving certainly compliments the interest and uniqueness of this whole process! |
